Mater Dei 56, Pius X 36--Jennifer Swander and Kelly O’Brien scored 13 points each to lead Mater Dei (12-5, 2-0) at Downey.

In the Century League:

Foothill 54, Santa Ana Valley 35--Ashley Selman had 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists to lead Foothill at Santa Ana Valley. Tayna Fox scored 15 points and had 7 rebounds for Foothill (6-8, 1-0). Francesca Rumps scored 13 points for Santa Ana Valley (5-8, 0-1).

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 62, Magnolia 39--Tammy Blackburn’s 19 points led the Wildcats (13-1, 1-0). Rena Rossoll scored 18 points and Dawne Borum 17 for Magnolia (6-7, 0-1).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Orange 46, Laguna Hills 34--Lori Sallinger scored 15 points for Orange (3-5, 1-0) at Laguna Hills. Christy Grebel scored 17 points and had 18 rebounds for Laguna Hills (2-8, 0-1).

Costa Mesa 54, Laguna Beach 30--Vanessa Henderson scored 15 points for the Mustangs (2-11, 1-0) at Laguna Beach.

In the Sea View League:

Newport Harbor 62, Corona del Mar 15--Jennifer Hamilton scored 20 and Chantel DeFord 19 points for Newport Harbor (9-4, 1-0). Corona del Mar is 4-6, 0-1.

Saddleback 45, University 44 (OT)--Melanie Melford (20 points) make a free throw with nine seconds left in overtime for the win at Saddleback. Monica Walton added 17 for Saddleback. Sandy Johnson had 14 and Shelly Davis 12 for University (4-6, 0-1).

In the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 55, Huntington Beach 54--Melayne Green scored 17 points for Fountain Valley. Fountain Valley led, 47-37, after three quarters, but Stephanie Pimper (18 points) made a three-point basket with 14 seconds left in the game to cut the lead to one, 55-54.

Huntington Beach (9-6, 1-1) got the ball back but turned it over with 2 seconds left. Tami Chick led Huntington Beach with 19 points.

Marina 47, Ocean View 41--Kathy Stuppy scored 11 points for Marina (14-2, 2-0) at Ocean View.

Edison 41, Westminster 27--Jody Crider scored 13 points and had 16 rebounds to lead Edison at home. Debbie Fischer scored 10 points and Wendy Sandstedt had 9 points and 12 rebounds for Edison (13-5, 1-1).

In the Freeway League:

Fullerton 53, Troy 43--Sharon Spadt scored 22 points and Sabryna Welch 20 for host Fullerton. Fullerton’s Lynn Gilbert had 16 rebounds, but did not score. Amber Hayden led Troy with 14 points.

La Habra 79, Buena Park 42--Robin Seebrook scored 32 points for La Habra.

Orange Lutheran 45, Whittier Christian 33--Devon Koster scored 17 points and added 23 rebounds for host Orange Lutheran (7-4, 3-1). Whittier Christian is 5-8, 2-1.

Brethren 39, Capistrano Valley Christian 23--Sophia Kollias 13 points for Capistrano Valley Chistian (2-6, 0-4).
