Fullerton Faces Las Vegas Tonight
Cal State Fullerton, which guaranteed itself a losing regular-season record with a loss to UC Irvine last Saturday, plays Nevada Las Vegas tonight in the Rebels’ Thomas and Mack Center.
The Titans (6-14 overall, 2-9 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn.), have seven games remaining. In the 18-game series between UNLV and Fullerton, the Titans have won only twice, although one of those wins came in 1983, when the Titans upset undefeated and top-ranked Rebels in Titan Gym.
UNLV (20-2, 9-2) is tied with Utah State for first place in the PCAA. The Rebels, who have won the conference every season since joining the PCAA in 1982-83, have lost only to UC Santa Barbara, which upset the Rebels at Las Vegas in January and again last Saturday at Santa Barbara.
