Share

Amulti-alarm fire raced through an electronics manufacturing firm in Pacoima early Friday morning, causing an estimated $200,000 in damage to the one-story building.

The blaze broke out at the Pacific Bonde Co. in the 11200 block of Ilex Ave. about 12:40 a.m. and was put out in 30 minutes by seven engine companies, said Greg Acevedo, Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman. He said the cause of the blaze was under investigation. There were no injuries.

Jim Wallingford, owner of the company, said the fire broke out in a silk-screening room near the rear of the 5,000-square-foot building. The 10-year-old firm, which manufactures printed circuit boards, will shift its operations during the weekend to a building the company owns in North Hollywood, he said.
