Simi Valley 87, Channel Islands 69--Simi Valley wrapped up its second consecutive undefeated Marmonte League season and bumped Channel Islands from the playoffs.

Shawn DeLaittre scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds--both game highs--for Simi Valley (22-3, 12-0), which recorded its 26th consecutive league win.

Pioneer center Don MacLean finished with 19 points. It was the first time MacLean failed to score 20 points this season. The 6-10 senior had scored at least 20 points in 43 of his past 46 games.

Senior guard Victor Caro scored 20 points to lead Channel Islands (14-10, 6-6), which finished in a third-place tie with Thousand Oaks.

Thousand Oaks earned the league’s third playoff spot based upon tiebreaking criteria.

Burbank 60, Burroughs 58--Dan Ruth scored the winning basket with two seconds left as Burbank scored seven consecutive points in the final minute of play to turn a 58-53 deficit into a Foothill League win. Burbank (15-9, 7-3) tied Schurr for second place and a coin flip today will determine the league’s second-place representative in the playoffs.

St. Genevieve 78, Salesian 61--St. Genevieve finished the season with its fifth consecutive win but fell short of a playoff berth with a fifth-place finish in the Santa Fe League.

The Valiants (12-10, 8-6), who trailed, 38-32, at halftime, unhinged Salesian with a zone press, three steals from Mike Cassidy and two three-point shots from Ruben Aguirre to take a 52-50 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Santa Clara 64, Agoura 55--Forward Kwame Joyner shared scoring honors with 20 points as the Saints (16-8, 8-0) completed Frontier League play undefeated, while denying the Chargers an outright playoff berth.

Dave Corridori led Agoura (9-13, 3-5) with 20 points.

The Chargers will face Nordhoff today with the winner advancing to the Southern Section 2-A Division playoffs.

Chaminade 73, La Salle 45--John Carolan scored 19 points and Chris Bruckner added 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Chaminade in a Santa Fe League game at La Salle (3-17, 3-11).

Chaminade (14-9, 9-5) finished in a third-place tie with Harvard. Chaminade and Harvard play at 2 this afternoon at Faith Baptist for the league’s final playoff berth.

Oakwood 63, Holy Martyrs 41--Mitchell Butler scored a game-high 34 points and added 12 rebounds to lead Oakwood in the Liberty League title-deciding game.

David Fond added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Gorillas (19-2, 11-0). Holy Martyrs (16-6, 10-2) finished second in the league.

GIRLS

Louisville 48, Notre Dame 46 (OT)--The Royals’ Nancy Robinson scored at the buzzer to give Louisville a victory in a league tiebreaker that gave Louisville third place in the San Fernando Valley League and a berth in the Southern Section 3-A Division playoffs.

It was the second time this week that Louisville beat Notre Dame in overtime. Becky Long and Kristin Carpenter each scored 12 points for Louisville, which has won or shared the league title the past five years.

Andrea Banducci led Notre Dame with 19.
