Showdown Time for Toro Cagers: They Gotta Win
The Cal State Dominguez Hills basketball team has its work cut out to gain a playoff spot.
The Toros (10-12 overall) must win their last four games and hope Cal State Northridge, Chapman College and Cal Poly Pomona do no better than 2-2 in their final four contests in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.
Dominguez Hills and Pomona are tied for fifth in the CCAA at 4-6. Northridge and Chapman are tied for fourth at 5-5.
Only four teams advance to the tournament. Cal State Bakersfield (9-1) leads the conference. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UC Riverside are tied for second at 7-3.
Tonight Dominguez Hills is at Riverside at 7:30, and Saturday the Toros play host to Pomona at 8:05. UCR is 18-5 overall. Pomona is 9-14.
