In other boys’ Division II games:

San Marcos 69, Serra 66--Matt Barrick scored 18 points and George Mojica added 15 to lead visiting San Marcos, which led, 69-58, with one minute to play.

Serra rallied to within three and had a chance to tie, but Conrad Jones’ three-point shot missed at the buzzer. San Marcos (8-12) will meet top-seeded Torrey Pines in the second round Thursday. Dexter Springall and Desi Dixon scored 14 points apiece for Serra, which finished 8-15.

Fallbrook 69, Carlsbad 55--Mike West scored 20 points, and Jeff Pack added 19 to lead host Fallbrook, which led 36-30 at halftime and steadily pulled away.

Luke Pettorini scored 30 points for Carlsbad (6-16). Fallbrook (13-13) meets No. 2-seeded Madison in Thursday’s second round.

San Diego 69, Mar Vista 34--Raynard Walls scored 17 points, and Tim Mitchell added 13 for host San Diego, which led, 36-27, at halftime before pulling away.

The Cavers (14-8) outscored Mar Vista, 33-7, in the second half and limited the Mariners to just two points in the fourth quarter. Andy Swindall added 12 points for San Diego, which will meet No. 6-seeded La Jolla in Thursday’s second round. Mar Vista finished 3-18.

Mission Bay 61, San Pasqual 51--Peter Wilson made 7 of 10 free throws in the final quarter to help host Mission Bay outscore San Pasqual, 19-9, and pull away from a 42-42 third-quarter tie.

Wilson, who also made three three-pointers, led Mission Bay with 23 points, and Kevin Ahsmuhs added 19. Mission Bay (11-15) will play at third-seeded El Camino (20-4) Thursday night at 7:30. San Pasqual finished 4-18.

University City 51, Hoover 39--The game was won at the free-throw line as University City connected on 14 of 22 attempts and Hoover was 0 for 5.

Hoover employed a full-court press in the fourth quarter, when University City scored 10 of its 15 points on free throws. The Centurions (14-9) will meet No. 5-seeded Castle Park in the second round. Hoover finished 2-21.

GIRLS

Mar Vista 51, San Diego 46--Mar Vista, trailing by as many as 14 points in the third quarter, switched to a pressing defense for the comeback victory at Mar Vista. San Diego’s Denise Nolfi, who scored 17 first-half points, was held to just 5 in the second half and none in the final quarter when Mar Vista (14-8) outscored San Diego, 21-12.

Niki Meyer led Mar Vista with 22 points, 10 in the fourth quarter. Mar Vista plays second-seeded Helix (16-5) in Thursday night’s second round.

Crawford 58, Carlsbad 55--Terri Butler scored 27 points as host Crawford (15-8) held off Carlsbad (3-15). Ericka Kiser, who had 13 points, hit a 10-foot jump shot with 20 seconds remaining to give Crawford a three-point lead. Carlsbad missed two three-point attempts in the final seconds.

Crawford will meet No. 4-seeded Madison in Thursday’s second round.
