In other boys’ Division III games:

Rancho Buena Vista 51, Clairemont 50--Rancho Buena Vista (5-22) led by six points with less than a minute remaining, but Ray McDavid hit a two-pointer and a three-pointer to bring Clairemont within 51-50 with 20 seconds left. Rancho Buena Vista stalled out the time until David Roberts was fouled with three seconds left. He missed the front end of a one-and-one, but teammate Al Aliipule tipped the rebound to Junior Moi, who ran out the clock. McDavid scored 25 points, including 10 in the four quarter, for Clairemont (5-19). Aliipule scored 14 for Rancho Buena Vista, which will play top-seeded Lincoln (22-2) in the semifinals on Friday.

DIVISION IV

Holtville 79, Marian 71--Richard Larios and Jason Brown each scored 22 points for host Holtville (14-7), which will play at top-seeded Christian Friday night. Although Holtville’s team was shorter, it outrebounded Marian, 45-39; Brown had 15 rebounds, and Larios had 14. Pat Mendez scored 26 points, and Jerry Conlin scored 20 for Marian (5-17). Ernie Garcia added 18 points, and Sergio Valenzuela had 16 points and 8 assists for Holtville.

DIVISION V

Julian 52, Calvin Christian 46--Travis Denmark and Ken Teter each scored 15 points at Julian. When the teams met during the regular season, Julian (12-11) won by 30 points. Julian took a 14-5 first quarter lead, and Calvin Christian (7-14) never caught up. Eric Schwartz scored 24 points for Calvin Christian. Julian will meet top-seeded Bishop’s (20-0) in Friday’s quarterfinals.

Midway Baptist 58, Santa Fe Christian 57--Tobin Wilkins made a half-court shot with five seconds left in a game played late Tuesday night at Midway Baptist. Midway Baptist Coach Daryl DeGraw said Wilkins didn’t know how much time was left when he threw up the shot. Dennis Holland scored 18 points for Midway Baptist (11-7). Santa Fe Christian, which had defeated Midway Baptist by four points earlier in the season, finished 6-13. Midway Baptist will meet No. 2-seeded Calipatria in Friday’s quarterfinals.

GIRLS DIVISION III

Our Lady of Peace 46, Clairemont 25--Tammy Taveras scored 20 points to lead Our Lady of Peace (12-14) to the victory at home. Our Lady of Peace opened a 33-12 lead after three quarters and will now face top-seeded Ramona in Friday’s second round.

DIVISION IV

Christian 54, Mountain Empire 25--Sue Devol scored 19 points for Christian (7-16), which outscored Mountain Empire (2-23) in the third quarter, 19-0. After using a pressing defense in the first half, Christian switched to a zone in the second. Stacie Peckham scored 15 for Mountain Empire, and Erika Jonte added 15 points for Christian, which will play at Holtville (14-9) in Friday’s second round.
