Natasha Norris scored 18 points for Lynwood (28-4), while Trise Jackson added 16 and sophomore Linda Watson had 13.

The two quickest teams in the Southern Section began the game with four consecutive turnovers, two each. Morningside could manage only eight points in the first quarter, Greene and Leslie scoring four each.

Lynwood led at halftime, 28-25, after leading by as many as 9 in the second quarter. The surprise was in the inside play of Norris, who scored 12 points in the half.

Greene scored 13 and Leslie added 8 in the first half for the Lady Monarchs, who expected to have the advantage inside.
