Gabarra, Borja Lead Lazers to 6-3 Win

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Jim Gabarra and Chico Borja each scored a pair of goals Sunday as the Los Angeles Lazers defeated the Chicago Sting, 6-3, in a Major Indoor Soccer League game.
The result snapped the Sting’s string of three consecutive victories.
Gabarra’s goals were the only scores in the first half.
Borja connected on a power play in the third quarter before Manny Rojas’ goal put the Sting on the scoreboard.
Michael Collins, who had two assists, put the Lazers ahead, 4-1, before the third quarter was over.
In the final quarter, Los Angeles (23-22) got goals from Borja and Chris Whyte. Chicago (21-23) got two from Charlie Fajkus.
