The Highlanders (8-4, 4-0), who had only two hits off Fullerton starter Kurt Hindman (3-2) before the sixth, got their first two batters on base and chased Hindman: winning pitcher Rob Litz (3-1) with a walk and Mike Smith with a double.

Rudy Sandoval and Kevin Capps then followed with run-scoring singles against reliever Rene Arias to give La Habra a 3-1 lead.
