Wood Throws 4th No-Hitter

Dawn Wood pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season to tie a San Diego Section record as Castle Park defeated Marian, 1-0, in a Metro Conference softball game Friday at Castle Park.

In her sixth consecutive shutout, Wood (11-3) struck out 8 and walked 1. Her fourth no-hitter ties the record held by three others, most recently Celeste Sanchez of San Marcos last season.

Castle Park (11-6, 6-0) leads the South Bay League. Marian is 7-6, 3-2.
