Venice : Junior Lifeguard Program

The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors will conduct a five-week Junior Lifeguard Program at Venice Beach for youngsters beginning July 5. Interested children 10 to 17 years old must pass a timed swimming test Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Santa Monica College Pool, Pico Boulevard and 17th Street.

Training by county lifeguards is scheduled for weekday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There is a $130 enrollment fee. For more information, call 305-9557 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
