Senior’s 800 at Invitational Not a Record

Share

San Diego Section Commissioner Kendall Webb confirmed Thursday that he has ruled that the 800-meter time run by Mount Miguel’s Mark Senior at the Golden West Invitational in Sacramento last weekend will not be considered a section record.

“It was (run out) of season,” Webb said. “If it’s out of season, he can’t be competing for his high school, and if he can’t compete for a high school, it can’t be authorized for a section record.”

Webb said Senior’s mark does not qualify as a record because it was run in a meet that was not sanctioned by the California Interscholastic Federation and was held after the state meet June 3 and 4.
