Mid-Valley held off a second-half surge to beat Bellevue, Wash., 64-61, in the American Roundball Corp. Future Stars Showdown on Friday at Notre Dame High.
San Fernando Valley also won, easily defeating the Bahamas, 112-84, behind Tracy Murray (36 points) and Mitchell Butler (25 points).
Mid-Valley took a 10-point lead at the half, but scored just three points in the third quarter. After falling behind early in the fourth period, Mid-Valley rallied behind five fourth-quarter points by both Askia Jones and Jacoby Day.
Today’s semifinal match-ups pit Mid-Valley against Northern California at 10 a.m. and San Fernando against Provo, Utah, at 11:30 a.m. The final is set for 7:30 p.m.
