Redell Leads Crespi to Hart Passing Title

Crespi High, led by quarterback Ron Redell, defeated Mater Dei, 20-0, for the Hart passing league tournament title Saturday at Hart High. Redell was named the tournament’s most valuable player as Crespi defeated Canyon, 18-12, in a semifinal before meeting Mater Dei.

Canyon, which opened the tournament by defeating Duarte, North Torrance and Beverly Hills, defeated Hart, 22-14, in the third-place game. Mater Dei defeated Hart, 14-6, in a semifinal.
