Northridge Captures Youth Section Title

Behind the clutch hitting and pitching of left-hander Jason Pivnik, the Northridge National 11-12-year-olds won the Little League Section 1 championship Thursday with an 8-4, extra-inning victory over Southside Oxnard at the Goleta Valley South Little League Complex.

With the score tied, 4-4, in the bottom of the sixth--the last regulation inning--Oxnard had a runner on third with none out but Pivnik struck out two batters and retired another on a ground ball. He then delivered a two-run single in a four-run Northridge seventh.
