Jeff Adams pitched a four-hitter and was 2 for 4 at the plate as Sylmar defeated the San Jose Yankees, 10-5, in the Palomino state tournament on Friday at P.A.L. Stadium in San Jose.

Adams survived a rocky first inning--when he was touched for a pair of two-run home runs--and allowed only one hit over the last six innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Third baseman Rich Aude was 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 runs batted in. Shortstop Dave Waco also was 3 for 4, and teammates Robert Chavez and Rudy Sanchez added homers for Sylmar (8-2).
