Quarterback Darick Holmes shook off a groin injury Friday night, rushing for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns in 12 carries and passing for 59 yards and a touchdown as Muir coasted past Glendale, 25-7, in a Pacific League game at Glendale.

Holmes, who suffered the injury a week ago, capped a 43-yard drive on Muir’s first possession with a 6-yard scoring run. A 25-yard pass from Holmes to Demetrice Martin with a minute to play in the second quarter gave the Mustangs a 19-7 halftime lead.

Glendale scored its only points with 6:30 remaining in the second quarter as quarterback Richard Callister found wide receiver Sang Lee in the end zone on a 5-yard pass.
