5 Moorpark Wrestlers Qualify in Regional

Moorpark College placed second in the South-Central regional wrestling finals Friday at Rio Hondo College and qualified 5 wrestlers for the state championships.

Cypress won the meet with 96 points, followed by Moorpark (65 1/4) and Rio Hondo (57 3/4).

Moorpark freshman Serge Mezheritsky, ranked No. 2 in the state at 142 pounds, won his division as did Carson Wollert (190) and heavyweight Vince Plymire. Sophomore Eric Millsap (118) and Manuel Gallegos (158) each placed second and also qualified.
