SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS : Bishop Amat Upsets Loyola With 16-0 Victory

Eric White kicked 3 field goals and quarterback Brian Harmon threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jeremy Smith as Bishop Amat High School upset Loyola, the nation’s No. 1-ranked team, 16-0, in front of 14,000 at Cerritos College in Norwalk Friday night.
Loyola linebacker Matt Butkus played the entire game but running back Johann Fuller left the game early after gaining only 7 yards in 5 carries. Bishop Amat running back Adam Rogers gained 35 yards in 16 carries to lead Bishop Amat.
Bishop Amat plays Fountain Valley Friday in Anaheim Stadium for the Southern Section Division I championship.
