HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES : Southern Section Division V : Canyon Springs Rolls to Easy Victory Over San Bernardino

Moreno Valley Canyon Springs, a school that has a senior class for the first time, breezed to an easy 30-7 victory over San Bernardino in the Southern Section Division V final at San Bernardino.
Rudy McGriff paced the Cougars with two touchdowns, a 17-yard run in the second quarter and a 31-yard run in the fourth quarter. Eric Zomalt scored on a 41-yard run to open the final period for Moreno Valley and Chris Perea added the final Cougar touchdown late in the game.
Kerry Garrett scored the Cardinals only touchdown on a 37-yard pass from quarterback Anthony Strickland in the fourth quarter.
Moreno Valley, which beat Norco, 48-12, to advance to final, finished the season 12-1. San Bernardino, which beat Corona in the semifinals, 22-11, is now 11-3.
