Cal State Dominguez Hills rides a three-game winning streak into Saturday night’s non-conference men’s basketball game at Cal Lutheran University.

Game time in Thousand Oaks is 7:30 p.m.

Cal Lutheran is 5-4. The Toros are 3-2. The teams have played two common opponents. Cal Lutheran defeated NAIA power Biola University, 82-76, but then lost to San Francisco State 98-93. Dominguez Hills held a 14-point lead in its season opener with Biola, then lost in double overtime, 69-67. The Toros have beaten San Francisco State twice by large margins.

Dominguez Hills Coach Dave Yanai, who seeks his 170th victory Saturday, says a win will be difficult.

“Anytime a team beats Biola, you take note of the contest,” he said. “I expect Saturday to be a very difficult road game for us.”

Senior center Anthony Blackmon needs 26 points to reach the 1,000 plateau. He is averaging 19.2 points a game.

Dominguez Hills will play host to Azusa Pacific on Tuesday and Cal State Hayward Dec. 23.

Dominguez announced that reserve guard Adam Weeks from Washingtonville, N.Y., has quit the team. Previously, highly touted forward Marty Ward left the team for religious reasons. That leaves just 10 players on the roster.
