Saddleback Still Tops Poll; Orange Lutheran Is No. 10

Saddleback High School met the challenge, defeating seventh-ranked Estancia, 58-55, last week to remain the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll.

Orange Lutheran, the first-place team in the Olympic League, breaks into the top 10 as the 10th-ranked team. It marks the first time the private school has been ranked in the top 10.

In the featured game of the week, third-ranked Irvine will travel to Saddleback College to meet fifth-ranked Capistrano Valley at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in South Coast League play.
