Ramona 69, Escondido 66--Ramona led 63-62 with 3:35 remaining and went to a four-corner offense. Escondido tried fouling, but Chad Waite and Tony Newman each hit 2 free throws down the stretch. Charlie Heintschel hit a 3-pointer to pull Escondido within 69-66. Escondido had two attempts at a 3-pointer in the final 7 seconds but could not convert. Nate Hallingsworth had 23 points for Ramona (7-12, 4-5). Brooks Barnhard led Escondido (9-8, 4-5).

Rancho Buena Vista 79, San Marcos 62--Todd Fellars scored 18 points and Darryl Parker added 13 to lead RBV (9-11, 5-4) at home.

Palomar League

Mt. Carmel 78, Poway 71--Mt. Carmel used free throws to outscore Poway, 22-13, in the third quarter and the Sundevils went on to upset the third-ranked Titans. Mt. Carmel was 10 of 10 from the line in the third quarter while Poway was 0 for 1. Mike Graves had 25 points and Shane Knight added 15 for Mt. Carmel (14-6, 6-2). Jay Blankenbeckler led Poway (16-3, 5-3) with 23 points.

Torrey Pines 68, Orange Glen 24--Top-ranked Torrey Pines stiffled Orange Glen, holding the Patriots to 20 points in the first half. Courtie Miller scored 30 points and Kevin Flanagan added 13 to lead Torrey Pines (21-1, 7-0). Jeff Leander had 9 points to lead Orange Glen (4-15, 1-7).

Fallbrook 65, Vista 58 OT--Fallbrook scored the first 6 points of overtime and outscored Vista, 14-7, in the period. Travis Teagle scored 14 points and Tim Cummins added 13 as four players scored in double figures for Fallbrook (10-10, 5-3). Herbie Weston scored 23 points to lead Vista (6-14, 2-6). Vista tied the game with :50 seconds remaining and had a chance to win it in regulation after a Mt. Carmel turnover, but missed a 12-foot shot with 2 seconds left.
