Eight Westside senior tennis players are among the favorites in the 55th annual Southern California Sectional Championships on April 7-15 at the Racquet Centre in Universal City.

Local players and their age groups include Dorothy Cheney, 60; Betsy Roberti, 55; Jane Kwon and Alice Middleton, 40; Ed Kauder and Frank Keister, 60; Chuck Nelson, 55, and Mark Heffernan, 40.

Holes in one were scored at Penmar Golf Course by Kody Kerck of Santa Monica and Dean LoNigro of West Los Angeles.

David Belfer shot a 34 to win the A flight in the Penmar Men’s Golf Club’s March tournament. Other flight winners and gross scores: Bill Temple, B, 37; Oral Peterson, C, 39; Archie Morrison, D, 41, and Sam Brumbaugh, temporary handicaps, 41.

Rollin Rhone’s name was misspelled in a list of age-group singles winners of the Santa Monica Seniors Tennis Tournament in the March 2 Westside edition of The Times.
