Pooh Richardson, who was a three-time All-Pacific 10 Conference selection from UCLA, signed a four-year contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the National Basketball Assn. expansion team announced Thursday.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge and am excited to get to Minnesota and get started,” Richardson said.
Richardson, who averaged 15.2 points and 7.6 assists a game as a senior at UCLA, was the 10th overall selection in the June NBA draft.
President Bob Stein of the Timberwolves said Richardson “can be a solid block in the foundation of our franchise and now has the chance to establish his place with his on-court ability.”
