PREP ROUNDUP : Stanton Leads Edison Past Fountain Valley

Brian Stanton scored three goals within 90 seconds in the fourth quarter to give Edison High School a 10-6 Sunset League water polo victory over Fountain Valley Wednesday at Golden West College.
Edison, 8-6 overall and 2-0 in league play, led, 4-3, at the start of the fourth quarter when Stanton went on his run. Fountain Valley managed one goal in that span, but Edison’s 7-4 advantage was enough.
Clint Nichols had three goals and six steals for Edison.
In Century League water polo:
Foothill 13, Canyon 2--Mark Delvaux and Matt Weaver each score three goals for host Foothill (9-4, 2-0).
In Empire League water polo:
Loara 13, Katella 8--Chris Davis had nine goals to lead host Loara. Darrell Linder also had three goals for Loara.
In Orange League water polo:
Brea-Olinda 25, Savanna 3--Scott Kling scored five goals to lead visiting Brea-Olinda (12-6, 3-0).
In Pacific Coast League water polo:
Costa Mesa 15, Laguna Hills 9--Corey Delahunt had six goals and Bret Dieball and Darrell Kunst each had three to lead visiting Costa Mesa (8-11, 2-0).
Orange 9, Woodbridge 5--Matt Maresh had five goals and Clay Kaytis three for visiting Orange (2-0, 10-7).
In Sea View League water polo:
Corona del Mar 19, Saddleback 5--Brandon Howald and Ted Simpkins each scored three goals to lead host Corona del Mar. Gunnar Gustafson added two goals for Corona del Mar (13-0, 2-0).
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
Corona del Mar 15, Rolling Hills 3--Courtney Strauss swept, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0, to lead visiting Corona del Mar (10-1).
In Sea View League girls’ volleyball:
Corona del Mar 3, Newport Harbor 1--Corona del Mar was led by Danielle Everett, who had 26 kills--11 in the last game--which led Corona del Mar to a 13-15, 15-10, 15-8, 15-9, victory over Newport Harbor.
