PREP ROUNDUP : Laguna Hills Wins in Girls’ Tennis

The Laguna Hills High School girls’ tennis team remained unbeaten in Pacific Coast League play by defeating visiting Orange, 16-2, Monday.

Sharon Oh and Suzie Kim won their doubles sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, to remain undefeated in league play. The Hawks (11-6 overall, 10-0 in league play) swept the singles matches, thanks to Jenny Marques (6-0, 6-1, 6-0), Brook Fleming (6-0, 6-0, 6-0) and Noriko Hopkins (6-0, 6-1, 6-3).

In Orange League girls’ tennis:

Savanna’s Cindy Kuragami defeated Tami Galeai of Western, 6-1, 6-2, to win the league’s singles championship at the Anaheim Tennis Center. Julie Williams and Allison Granger of Valencia won the doubles championship.

In nonleague girls’ volleyball:

Corona del Mar 3, Woodbridge 0--Danielle Everett had 13 kills and Tracy Schriber had seven digs and four aces as the Sea Kings (19-1) won at Woodbridge, 15-6, 15-7, 15-6.

Calvary Chapel 4, Glendale Adventist 1--Alyssa Perry had 15 kills and Cassandra Arechiga had 10 kills and five aces to lead Calvary Chapel (10-1), 15-11, 1-15, 15-8, 15-8, at home.
