Royal 14, Channel Islands 13--Royal quarterback Ryan Fien connected with Jeff Creed on a 23-yard touchdown pass on a fourth-and-15 play to tie the score with less than three minutes to play at Simi Valley High.

Matt Brinkman then kicked the conversion to give Royal (3-7, 1-5) the victory.

Fien, who also hit Creed with a seven-yard scoring pass in the first quarter, completed seven of 25 passes for 103 yards and threw two interceptions.

Jason Richardson scored from two yards midway through the second quarter for Channel Islands (4-5, 2-4).
