Schroeder Is Raiders’ Probable Starter
Raider quarterback Steve Beuerlein says he expects to dress Sunday in Houston but doesn’t know if he will play.
Though the Raiders are holding off on any announcements, Jay Schroeder is now all but certain to start.
Beuerlein didn’t suit up at San Diego after the Raiders held out hope he could play. However, he was able to split practice time with Schroeder this week and says his injured right knee is better.
“It felt good for the whole practice,” Beuerlein said Thursday, “but then at the end when I had to roll out, it didn’t feel that good at all. It’s just a day-to-day thing.”
Schroeder has started two games since Beuerlein’s injury, a victory over the Bengals and a loss to the Chargers.
