Santa Ana Valley’s Judy Moeller Dies at 47

Judy Moeller, the girls’ athletic director at Santa Ana Valley High School for the past nine years, died Monday of cancer.

Moeller, 47, who was named the Southern Section girls’ athletic director of the year for the 1988-89 school year, also was the chairwoman of the girls’ physical education department at Santa Ana Valley. Previously she had coached volleyball for eight years and was adviser for the school’s cheerleader squad.

Services for Moeller, who is survived by her former husband, Joe, who had pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and a son and daughter, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Hillside Chapel in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
