It was a classic match-up, a battle of undefeated cross-town rivals, Southern Section against City, private school meets public.

The contest was surprisingly one-sided, however, as San Fernando High recorded a convincing 4-1 win over Alemany in a first-round match of the Hart boys’ tournament Wednesday.

Alemany (4-1-1) trailed, 2-0, before trimming the margin toward the end of the first half when forward Damon Rivetti, flanked by San Fernando’s Tereseso Delgado and Ricardo Coyt, flicked the ball into the upper-left corner of the net from 12 yards.
