PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : La Quinta Takes 43 Shots, Routs Bolsa Grande, 12-0

La Quinta High School took 43 shots on the way to a 12-0 victory over host Bolsa Grande in a Garden Grove League girls’ soccer match Thursday.

Nineteen of La Quinta’s shots were stopped by Bolsa Grande’s Jennifer Williams and 12 were not close enough to be counted as saves.

Jaime Ortwein and Stacey Reynaga each had three goals for La Quinta (8-3-0 overall, 4-0 in league play).

In the Century League:

Canyon 5, Villa Park 0--Joy Dougal’s two goals led visiting Canyon.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 1, Cypress 1--Theresa Korte scored for host El Dorado (8-3-3, 2-1-2) and Melissa Santos scored for Cypress.

Los Alamitos 7, Loara 1--Paloma Mead had two goals, Karen Kolodziej had two and Chris Emch, Jaycee Leitner and Noel Stoell each had one to lead visiting Los Alamitos (9-3-1, 3-0-1).

In the Olympic League:

Orange Lutheran 5, Capistrano Valley Christian 1--Shannon Larson and Amber Parkinson scored two goals each to lead Orange Lutheran (9-2-2, 4-1-2).

Santa Margarita 10, Brethren 2--Amy Makel, Leigh Capobianco, Michelle Geyer and Erica Gambale each had two goals to lead host Santa Margarita (7-0-3, 5-0-2).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Woodbridge 2, Laguna Hills 1--Tina Hall and Talia Emery scored to lead Woodbridge (9-4-1, 2-1).

Trabuco Hills 6, Laguna Beach 1--Kristen Lowery had three goals to lead Trabuco Hills (13-4-1, 3-0-1).

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 2, University 2--Heather Podlich and Carolyn Griffin each scored for host University (6-4-4, 2-0-2). Justine DiCesare and Prentice Perkins scored for Corona del Mar (11-5-3, 3-0-1).

Newport Harbor 6, Saddleback 1--Nikki Webb and Heather Webb each had two goals for visiting Newport Harbor (4-6-2, 1-1-2).

In the Sunset League:

Ocean View 1, Marina 0--Tanya Vinland scored to lead host Ocean View (10-4-5, 3-1-1).

Edison 3, Westminster 0--Alysson Gibbs, Stacy Matsuura and Carrie Ramirez each scored for visiting Edison (10-3-4, 5-0).

In Freeway League boys’ soccer:

Sunny Hills 3, Buena Park 0--Bob Magnussen, Brent Howes and Matt Marino each scored for visiting Sunny Hills (11-2-2, 4-0).
