Birmingham 3, North Hollywood 3--Officials lost track of the time and the second half of a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at North Hollywood lasted 20 minutes longer than the regulation 40, according to Birmingham Coach Jose Freire. Freire said that his team was leading, 3-2, at what should have been the end of the match and that he would file a protest today with the City Section.

Mario Martinez scored twice and Scott Brown added another goal to help Birmingham (6-2-4, 3-0-4) to a 3-1 halftime lead.

Van Nuys 2, Reseda 0--Allan Garcia scored on a head shot on a crossing pass from Luis Barrios at the 10-minute mark in the second half and Jose Alvarenga scored 10 minutes later to give the Wolves (4-4-3, 2-2-3) a Valley Pac-8 Conference win at home.

San Fernando 1, Cleveland 0--Midfielder Alex Rodriguez scored from 10 yards on an assist from Eric Campos at the 30-minute mark in the first half of a Mid-Valley League match at home.

Chatsworth 1, El Camino Real 0--With one minute remaining at El Camino Real, halfback Gavin Small scored on a head shot from five yards on Donnie Oades’ 45-yard free kick in a West Valley League match.

Burroughs 1, San Gabriel 1--With Burroughs trailing, 1-0, midway through the second half, Jeff Gierok scored on Ian Goyanes’ corner kick in a Foothill League match at Burroughs.

GIRLS

Chatsworth 8, Cleveland 0--Chatsworth’s potent defensive combination of goalkeeper Maggie Sherman and sweeper Kim Costantino has held Valley League opponents scoreless in eight matches. Kris Bassler scored a hat trick for the Chancellors, who led, 3-0, at halftime.
