In the Loara tournament consolation semifinals:

Villa Park 7, Pacifica 6--Danny Strapt had a bases-loaded single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Villa Park (3-1) the victory. Todd Wilson (2-0) came on in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and no outs and did not give up a run.

Newbury Park 8, Santiago 5--Bill Gonzales and Robert Jung each had two hits and Enele Scanlan had two RBIs for Santiago (4-2). Newbury Park scored seven runs in the fourth inning on three hits and three errors at Glover Stadium.

In other consolation games:

Diamond Bar 13, Los Alamitos 3--Tommy Thompson and Mike Jones each hit two-run triples as Diamond Bar scored seven runs in the first inning at Boysen Park. Los Alamitos scored single runs in the first, third and sixth innings.

Fountain Valley 5, Sunny Hills 3--Fountain Valley’s Jeff Hale pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits, walking three and striking out seven, for his second victory. Darren La Point had two hits and an RBI for Fountain Valley (3-1).

Irvine 2, Anaheim 0--Visiting Irvine (2-2) was led by Mike Seal, who pitched a three-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking three.

Huntington Beach 3, Cypress 2--Host Huntington Beach (4-2) was led by John Vullo (2-0), who allowed four hits and struck out six for the victory. J.P. Rizzo had two hits and scored a run for Huntington Beach.

Dana Hills 7, Laguna Hills 4--Relief pitcher Keith Barnett hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to cushion Dana Hills’ 5-4 lead. Barnett pitched the last three innings and did not allow a run or a hit for his first save. Dana Hills is 3-1; Laguna Hills is 2-2.

El Dorado 16, Savanna 2--Steve Wemmer led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run. Geraldo Flores hit a two-run home run for El Dorado (3-1) in the fourth inning.

La Quinta 3, San Clemente 2--Walter Dawkins had three hits and scored a run to lead visiting La Quinta (2-2). San Clemente is 1-3.

El Toro 6, Downey 4--Tim Powers had three hits, scored twice and stole three bases to lead El Toro (1-3) at Brookhurst Park. Bo Haley and Scott Sebbo each had two hits and two RBIs for El Toro.

Western 5, Marina 5 (darkness)--Marina’s Robin Lindsey and David Schultz each had two hits and two RBIs and Western’s Ron Serrano had two hits and two RBIs. Both teams are 1-2-1.

Los Amigos 10, Loara 5--Pitcher John Morgan went four for four with three RBIs, and catcher Matt McCready went two for four with five RBIs and a three-run home run to lead Los Amigos (1-3) at Loara (0-4).

In a nonleague game:

Valencia 8, Rancho Alamitos 1--Steve Rewald went three for four with three RBIs, and Randy Sweet (1-0) pitched a three-hitter for visiting Valencia (2-0).
