ORANGE COUNTY ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAME : Walker, Mater Dei Forwards Lead Teams

Keith Walker of Brea-Olinda High School, the county’s leading scorer, heads the South team and forwards Charlie Andres and Andy Karich of Mater Dei head the North in the 25th Orange County all-star basketball game April 28 at Cal State Fullerton.

Walker averaged 32.6 points per game for Brea, leading the Wildcats to the Orange League championship. He has signed with California.

Andres and Karich have led Mater Dei (33-1) into the state championship game tonight in Oakland. Andres averages 11.1 points and Karich 10.1. Karich, the most valuable player in the Angelus League, has signed with Santa Clara.

The North will have a distinct height advantage with 6-11 center Robert Conlisk of Los Alamitos and 6-10 center Bill Martineau of Edison.

Rainer Wulf of Trabuco Hills will coach the South. Tim O’Brien of Estancia will coach the North.
