Ralph Garcia and Joe Aversa each hit bases-empty home runs as Southern California College defeated visiting UC San Diego, 5-0. Ernie Isola went two for three for UCSD (16-13-2).

SOFTBALL

The University of San Diego (27-17) split a doubleheader with San Francisco State, taking the first game, 6-3, and losing the second, 3-2.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

The West Coast Conference singles championship, rained out last Sunday, will be played this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the San Diego Racquet Club. Top-seeded defending champion Ginger Helgeson of Pepperdine will play No. 4 Sakolwan Kacharoen of USD.
