La Jolla 9, University City 3--Winning pitcher Craig Woodall (4-4) drove in two runs with a bases-loaded double in the fifth to put the Vikings (12-8, 4-4) ahead to stay. Gary Frank, Eric Vann and John Zuanich added two hits apiece. University City is 6-14, 1-7.

City Central League

San Diego 13, Hoover 1--For San Diego (13-7, 5-3), Josh Hoffman was three for three with a triple, an RBI and two runs, and Kian Sly and Claudio Moreno each had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. Hoover is to 9-13, 2-6.

Madison 12, Lincoln 0--Jason McElveny hit a three-run homer in the second as Madison scored six runs. LaMont Allen followed up with a bases-loaded, two-run single. Madison improved to 10-9, 5-3. Lincoln fell to 6-13, 1-7.

City Eastern League

Point Loma 8, Serra 3--Point Loma (12-10, 6-2) moved into a first-place tie with Mira Mesa after getting off to a quick start with four runs in the second; three came on Mike Williams’ first homer of the season. Teammate Bob Simoneau hit two doubles in three at-bats.

Mira Mesa 4, Morse 0--Drew Arnold went two for four with two RBIs for No. 3 Mira Mesa (17-3, 6-2). Morse is 5-13-1, 0-6-1.

City Harbor League

St. Augustine 6, Clairemont 5--Jason Alcoser narrowed St. Augustine’s deficit to 3-2 with a solo home run in the fourth, and Aaron Goncalves and Eric Dent put the Saints up for good in the seventh with two-run doubles. St. Augustine is 13-9, 7-1, Clairemont 12-10, 5-3. Antoine Henry of Clairemont went three for three with two triples and scored three times.

Coronado 7, Christian 0--Joel Franklin pitched a three-hitter for Coronado (13-7, 5-3), striking out 10 and walking just one. Paul Carter hit a bases-empty homer in the fifth for Coronado. Christian is 5-14, 2-5.

Metro Conference

Sweetwater 2, Chula Vista 1--Nolan Alcantara squeezed in Larry Meza with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Meza also scored Sweetwater’s first run on Raul Sanchez’s RBI single in the first. Sanchez went three for three to raise his average to .517. Sweetwater improved to 16-6, 4-4.

Hilltop 12, Mar Vista 2--Paul Stojsavljevic hit a two-run homer in the first for No. 8 Hilltop (16-5, 7-1). Stojsavljevic went four for four with two RBIs and three runs scored. Mar Vista fell to 3-19, 0-8.

Southwest 1, Castle Park 0--Two fielding errors by Castle Park (13-10, 4-4), both in the first inning, enabled Southwest (9-10, 7-1) to score. Sal Sanchez struck out six and allowed three runs and one walk.

Montgomery 6, Bonita Vista 1--Saul Rodriguez went two for four, tripled, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead Montgomery (14-7, 6-2). Bonita Vista is 8-12, 2-6.

Nonleague

Crawford 5, Patrick Henry 3--Joe McWilliams hit two-run homer in the first for No. 10 Crawford (15-4). McWilliams also had a triple and three RBIs. Patrick Henry is 11-9.

Kearny 16, Marian Catholic 14--Rob Fragoso went three for six for Kearny (9-11) in nine innings.
