Davis Walking Away With Hart Leadership in Free Passes

Offense: With 34 walks--five intentional--Rob Davis has drawn 13 more than any of his Hart High teammates. Davis, a senior shortstop, is batting a team-high .456 with a .625 on-base percentage. Davis walked 23 times in Foothill League play. In three league games against Schurr, he walked seven times in 12 appearances.

Antelope Valley’s Jeff Bishop is batting .254 (18 for 71) in 24 games. But Bishop batted .362 (17 for 47) in Golden League play.

Quartz Hill seniors Kendial Armstrong and Andy Putnam batted .420 (each was 34 for 81) to tie for the team batting championship. Armstrong hit seven home runs, five doubles, three triples and drove in 32 runs.

Thousand Oaks’ Ryan Kritscher is batting .688 (11 for 16) in the Lancers’ leadoff position. Kritscher, a junior second baseman who began the season three for 15, is on a 17-for-22 tear with an on-base percentage of .773. He is batting .432 overall.

Crespi has stolen 76 bases, more than any other Celt team during Scott Muckey’s four-year coaching tenure. Mark Venturine leads the team with 20.

Pitching: Hart has recorded 10 complete-game victories. Senior left-hander Andrew Lorraine, who has five complete games, and senior right-hander Kevin Foderaro, who has four, are both 8-0.

Quartz Hill junior right-hander Ron Turner, the Rebels’ apparent ace next season, was 7-2 with 61 strikeouts in 61 1/3 innings.

Westlake’s pitching staff has an earned-run average of 1.54. In 181 innings, the Warriors have struck out 126 and walked 52. Mike Eby, is 9-0 with a 1.10 ERA. The senior left-hander has struck out 60 and walked 18 in 71 1/3 innings.

Defense: In its final five games--all Saracen losses--Harvard yielded 71 runs (14.2 a game).
