THE SIDELINES : 3 Finalists for Bob Smith Award

HOUSTON — Miami pitcher Oscar Munoz, Arizona State outfielder Mike Kelly and New Mexico State third baseman Joe Williams have been named finalists for the R. E. (Bob) Smith college baseball player-of-the-year award.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Assn. selected the three from a group of 10 players.
Munoz was 15-2 with a 2.39 earned run average in 20 appearances this season, Kelly hit .376 with 21 home runs and 82 RBIs, and Williams hit .401 with 78 RBIs and 25 home runs.
The winner will be announced June 21.
