CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : RIVERSIDE : Slain Woman’s Mate Found Dead

The body of a 65-year-old man, missing since his 71-year-old wife was fatally wounded in the parking lot of an Alpha Beta market in Ontario over the weekend, was found hidden under overgrown trees fronting the Pomona Freeway, Riverside police said. The victim, Hubert Farley, was discovered by detectives searching on foot. Investigators believe that Farley was kidnaped when his wife, Lula Mae, was shot several times with a semiautomatic handgun while collecting aluminum cans for recycling.
