CSUN Recruit Falls Below 700 on SAT

Dorian Manigo, one of Cal State Northridge’s top basketball recruits, has scored less than 700 points on his Scholastic Aptitude Test, thereby failing to meet the NCAA’s minimum entrance requirements under Proposition 48.

Manigo, a guard, guided San Francisco Riordan High to the state large-schools championship game last season, in which it lost to Mater Dei.

Northridge Coach Pete Cassidy said he will meet with Athletic Director Bob Hiegert to determine whether the school will honor its scholarship offer while Manigo redshirts his freshman season.

Manigo committed to Northridge in November during the NCAA’s early signing period. The only other player CSUN signed early was Mark Wilkinson, a forward from Santa Ana Foothill High who also failed to meet Prop. 48 requirements.
