Jill Young, a Corona del Mar High School track and field athlete, signed a national letter of intent this week to attend UCLA in the fall, her father, Jim Young, said Thursday.
Young, a four-year varsity member who won the Southern Section 3-A title in the 300-meter hurdles last month, placed sixth in that event at the Masters meet, missing a state berth by one place.
Young set a Sea View League record in the event, finishing in 44.5 seconds to win the event at the league finals.
