TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State junior defensive tackle Shane Collins, who hurt his right knee in last week’s season-opening 34-13 win over Baylor, needs reconstructive surgery and will miss the rest of the football season.
Team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Norman Fee said Thursday that he discovered a tear in Collins’ anterior cruciate ligament during surgery Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.
