La Habra High School junior tailback Jason Johnson rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns in 29 carries to lead the Highlanders to a 26-7 nonleague victory over outmanned Bolsa Grande Friday night at Bolsa Grande Stadium.

The Highlanders (2-0) scored on their first two possessions, took a 26-7 halftime lead and controlled the football most of the second half against the Matadors (0-2). La Habra’s defense, led by linebacker Pat Gleason, allowed only 37 yards offense in the first half.

Johnson, a 5-8, 165-pounder, scored the game’s first two touchdowns on runs of 2 and 23 yards. Quarterback Greg Mitchell accounted for the other Clan scores with a two-yard run and a 75-yard pass to Mike Miller with only 26 seconds left before intermission. Mike Mooney converted on two of his four attempts.
