Valencia Relies on Air Attack to Beat El Dorado

Valencia High School scored three touchdowns through the air in a 35-6 victory over El Dorado Friday at Valencia.

It was a strong running game that set up the passes for Valencia (3-0). The Tigers rushed for 253 yards--134 in the first half when Valencia led, 21-0. Running back John Fewell accounted for 113 yards on 20 carries and one touchdown.

Valencia also had significant contributions from two other running backs--Willie Barnes (nine carries for 60 yards and one touchdown) and Ryan Roskelly (six carries for 50 yards).

And defensively, Valencia kept El Dorado (1-2) in check. The Hawks gained just 33 yards rushing--only 13 yards in the first half.

Valencia scored on touchdown passes of 10, 16 and 47 yards by quarterback Marc O’Brien, who completed seven of 13 pass attempts for 127 yards.
