PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Pacifica Takes to the Air, Sends Glenn Reeling
Chris Castellano threw two second-quarter touchdown passes to lead Pacifica High School to a 14-0 victory over Glenn High on Friday in a nonleague game in front of 500 at La Mirada High School.
Castellano was 12 for 28 for 137 yards with no interceptions. His first touchdown was a nine-yarder to Jim Lochner with 10 minutes 17 seconds left in the second quarter. Pacifica (2-1) started the short scoring drive at the Glenn 15 because Glenn punter Jerry Jornadal touched his knee to the ground going for a low snap.
The second scoring pass came on Pacifica’s next possession. Castellano completed a 14-yarder to Eric Stevens. The play capped a 66-yard, eight-play drive. Dave Anderson kicked both extra points.
Pacifica’s defense was impressive as well. The Mariners held Glenn (2-1) to 17 yards in the first half and 98 overall.
