Palmdale 14, Antelope Valley 7--Anthony Ortega rushed for 86 yards in 20 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 20-yard run early in the fourth quarter to lead the visiting Falcons.

With Palmdale (2-4, 1-0) leading, 14-7, Antelope Valley’s Jason Harvey recovered an Ortega fumble at the Falcon 25-yard line. Antelope Valley marched to the Palmdale nine, but Chelsa Blanks’ halfback option pass to quarterback Mike Fossati on a fourth-and-eight play was incomplete with 2:41 to play. The Falcons then ran out the clock.

Palmdale took a 6-0 lead when Tervell Spears scored on a 14-yard run just before halftime. The extra-point attempt was blocked by Eugene Dreher, who also blocked a field-goal attempt in the first quarter. Antelope Valley (1-5, 0-1) took a 7-6 lead late in the third quarter on a seven-yard Fossati run. Blanks’ interception of a Jay Mapson pass started the drive at the Palmdale 36-yard line.
