Junior tailback Terry Barnum scored six touchdowns and rushed for 258 yards in 20 carries to lead Alemany High to a 41-7 victory over Chaminade on Friday night at Alemany.
Barnum’s six touchdowns set an Alemany single-game school record.
Barnum, who rushed for 179 yards in 14 carries and four touchdowns in the first half, ran in from 36 yards on the game’s second play and also scored on runs of 62, eight and two yards.
“He’s a threat to break it each time he touches the ball,” Alemany Coach Pat Blackburn said.
Barnum scored on runs of one and 62 yards in the second half before sitting out the fourth quarter. Alemany improved to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Mission League play. Chaminade slipped to 1-4-1 and 0-3.
“It wasn’t just Terry Barnum scoring six times tonight,” Barnum said. “It was the Alemany offensive line, the defense and Alemany High scoring six touchdowns. The offensive line did a great job.”
Ted Corcoran scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter for Chaminade’s only points.
