Army-Navy 21, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Ron Allen carried 28 times for 130 yards and one touchdown to lead Army-Navy (5-0). Capistrano Valley Christian fell to 2-4.

Avocado League

San Marcos 17, San Pasqual 17--San Pasqual (2-3-1, 1-1-1) drove to the San Marcos 21 in the final minute, but time ran out before a field goal attempt could be made. San Pasqual’s Cullen Owen carried 23 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns. San Marcos’ Mark Frazier rushed 16 times for 172 yards. San Marcos is now 4-1-1, 2-0-1.

Escondido 13, Oceanside 0--Escondido (5-1, 3-0) took over first place in the league as Jerry Singleton completed seven of 15 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown to Scott Reichle and Keith Williams carried 18 times for 77 yards and caught three passes for 25 yards. Escondido’s Lance Lawton added 52 yards on 10 carries. Oceanside fell to (2-4, 1-1).

City Central League

Lincoln 27, Hoover 8--Daudi Wakegijig, Scott Hammond and Michael Temple scored on two-yard runs as Lincoln won its first game of the season after five losses. Hoover fell to (1-5, 0-1)

Madison 31, San Diego 6--Curtis Dawson ran for 108 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries and Jamar Harrison caught six pass for 85 yards and rushed for two touchdowns for Madison (3-3, 1-0). Madison quarterback Mike Jones was 9 of 18 for 135 yards and a touchdown. San Diego (2-4, 0-1) scored its only touchdown on Tony Bratcher’s 85-yard kickoff return.

City Eastern League

Serra 14, Patrick Henry 14--Ram Barrera passed 46 yards to Sidney Clark with 18 seconds left as Serra (0-5-1, 0-0-1) shocked No. 10 Patrick Henry (4-1-1, 0-0-1). Bryant Tucker, who rushed 15 times for 133 yards, then scored in the California tiebreaker, to be used should the two teams tie for a playoff position. Serra, which scored all 14 points in the fourth quarter, was unable to score in the first half though it had the ball three times inside the one. Both teams had five turnovers. Clay Reynard had three interceptions for Patrick Henry, including a 33-yard touchdown return.

City Harbor League

St. Augustine 33, Coronado 7--John Mozerka scored three touchdowns on carries of 10, 24, and 28 yards for St. Augustine (4-2, 1-0). Marco Palumbo, who scored Coronado’s lone touchdown, carried the ball 13 times for 113 yards. Saints compiled 319 rushing and 53 passing yards, and Coronado (2-3, 0-1) had 119 rushing and 35 passing yards.

City Western League

La Jolla 42, University City 12--La Jolla (5-1, 1-0) gained 222 total yards to University City’s 231 but converted five turnovers into 28 points. E.J. Watson rushed 11 times for 64 yards and three touchdowns, giving him 17 this season. Brian Hidalgo also passed for two scores for the Vikings, who scored 21 points in a 2:21 fourth-quarter span. University City fell to 1-4, 0-1.

USDHS 20, Mission Bay 7--Brady Walker rushed nine times for 104 yards and a touchdown to lead the Dons (4-2, 1-0). Aaron Blair added field goals of 28 and 32 yards. Andy Guyader completed eight of 18 passing for 238 yards for Mission Bay (3-3, 0-1).

Grossmont 3-A League

Mt. Miguel 27, El Capitan 13--Earl Bryers ran for 183 yards and three touchdowns in 25 carries and Troy Stephens had 129 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries for Mt. Miguel (5-1, 1-0). Jessic Heise had 122 yards in eight carries for El Capitan (0-6, 0-1).

Granite Hills 17, Monte Vista 0--Tim Clark kicked field goals of 32, 33 and 37 yards to lead Granite Hills (3-3, 1-0). Monte Vista fell to 1-5, 0-1.

Grossmont 2-A League

Grossmont 41, Valhalla 0--Jason Eskridge carried 29 times for 229 yards and three touchdowns to lead Grossmont (4-1, 1-0). Quarterback Tommy Karlo ran for a touchdown and threw for another to Jared Larson. Valhalla fell to 2-4, 0-1.

Metro Conference

Sweetwater 35, Bonita Vista 28--Danny Branch rushed 16 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns to lead Sweetwater (5-1, 3-0). Sweetwater scored the winning touchdown with 36 seconds left after an 82-yard drive. Sweetwater quarterback David Gregorio completed seven of 14 passes for 114 yards. Bonita Vista is 1-5, 0-3.

Montgomery 28, Castle Park 14--Chuck Acuna, a sophomore, threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 20 throws for Montgomery (3-3, 2-1). Rodney Davenport caught four Acuna passes for 55 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown. Mike Wazal also had a touchdown catch, of 25 yards. Saul Rodriguez had two catches for 40 yards.

Southwest 44, Mar Vista 22--Riley Washington scored four touchdowns and ran for 166 in 14 carries. Mar Vista quarterback Mel Antunez was 10 of 22 for 182 yards and two interceptions.

Palomar League

Orange Glen 9, Poway 7--David Napier kicked field goals of 28, 40 and 55 yards to lift Orange Glen (5-1, 3-0). Poway fell to 2-3-1, 0-2-1.

Mt. Carmel 28, Fallbrook 28--Mt. Carmel drove 95 yards in the final minutes and had a field goal blocked as time ran out. Jeff Scott rushed 16 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns for Mt. Carmel. Mt. Carmel’s Matt Miller completed 19 of 29 for 282 yards and a touchdown and rushed seven times for 101 yards.

Vista 23, San Dieguito 14--Bryan Leitzel scored on a 70-yard run as Vista won its first game of the season. San Dieguito fell to 1-5 and 0-3.

1-A Southern Conference

La Jolla Country Day 55, Julian 18--Julian (5-1, 2-1) gave LJCD (6-0, 3-0) its biggest challenge this year when it trailed the Torres by just 14-12 early in the second quarter. But by halftime, LJCD led, 34-12. The Julian offense compiled 270 rushing yards and 45 passing, which is the best any team has done against the Torres, and scored the most points against LJCD, which allowed an average of just 2.9 points a game. LJCD’s Rashaan Salaam carried the ball 12 times for 232 yards and four touchdowns and had a 60-yard pass reception from Sean Saadeh for a fifth touchdown. Saadeh completed four of nine passes for 86 yards and three touchdowns. Julian quarterback Curtis Delgadillo ran 21 times for 111 yards.
